I ordered this to use in my 16 year old Daughter's room. We live in Washington State, and when it gets really warm out, her room turns into a warm, high humidity sauna. It is really neat to see that this doesn't need to remained plugged in except during charging, and doesn't even make a sound during use. When it arrived, I kept spinning it around trying to find a power button because I had never used one before that didn't have one. I have 2 others that have a fan like sound, that run being plugged into an outlet and they literally pull the moisture out of the air and water is produced into a little compartment tank. When I ordered this one, I really thought it would end up being like the other two, but it i not. I sort of feel balanced between the star rating of 3 and 4. When hanging it up in my Daughter's room, which really isn't very large, I did not notice much of a difference really. I ended up ultimately hanging it in my Dirty clothes hamper to reduce any moisture that could cause mold in there since it is a woven basket with a lid and cotton basket liner, it is recommended that I refrain from putting any type of moisture saturated clothing inside the hamper. My 6 year old Daughter had spilled some water on her shirt. I waited until the shirt was just damp (not soaked. I didn't want to push my luck and ruin my hamper) and I placed it into the hamper, with the dehumidifier, to see what would happen. It wasn't immediate, and maybe it was coincidence, but the shirt seemed drier when I went to check on it a few hours later. So I decided to leave the dehumidifier in the dirty laundry hamper for use when I can't trust the rest of my Family to leave we clothes out. The beads are pink when they need a charge and turn blue when they are fully charged. During charging, I have noticed that the dehumidifier gets pretty warm. I read in the manual that it is very normal for that to happen. Overall I feel that the dehumidifier does what it is suppose to be the space it is used in should be a very small and confined space such as a closet or hamper or if the room is very small like a laundry area that literally has a washer and dryer in it only. It didn't seem to function at it's best in a bedroom sized area. So a 4 star it is for actually doing it's job. I received this product at a discount, in exchange for my honest review.
