BlueFire 1200 Lumens LED Flashlight Cree XM-L2 Torch 5 Modes Use 18650 Battery(Not Included)

     I have been in search of a descent flashlight for our Bug-out-bag for a while now. So far none have compared to this one. This Bluefire flashlight works beautifully! It is nice and bright with 5 different functioning modes such as, High(1200Lumens), Mid(546Lumens), Low(100Lumens), Strobe, and SOS.
It very strong and durable being that is made of Air-craft grade Aluminum Alloy. The Bluefire flashlight is impact resistant which is ideal for a survival situation for protection. It is also corrosion proof and water resistant which hopefully means that this flashlight will outlast all of my other flashlights I own! I love that it has an SOS built in. I don't know Morse code, even my Husband who was in the Military and is now a Veteran doesn't know Morse code. You would think they would teach that to all Military but apparently they do not. When my Husband told me he didn't know how to signal SOS I was shocked at the Irony of him being quite closely related to the guy who invented Morse code. In any situation, everyone who owns this flashlight should be very aware of the run time of the battery when operating this flashlight. Run time while the flashlight is in high mode is only 2 hours. Obviously this would not be ideal in a survival situation to be running the flashlight on high all the time. If you set the flashlight on Middle mode, you will get approximately 8 hours of use from the battery.  If you set the flashlight on low, you can get about 23 hours of run time. Clearly, in a survival situation you would want to be sure you have a second battery on you and that you use the Middle or low setting to conserve battery power. This flashlight unfortunately does not use a standard AA or AAA battery which is typically easy to find in a grocery store. Instead, it uses one 18650 battery. I was able to find this battery for about $12 on Amazon as a rechargeable set. That price is not too bad and I can get multiple uses out of it being that it is rechargeable. The battery is nice and bright and functions beautifully. I love that the weight isn't too light, it has some added weight to it that makes the overall feel of this flashlight feel that it is strong. The flashlight unscrews at both ends for battery installation. I will be recommending this flashlight to my Family who are avid campers. This truly is a great quality flashlight!
